Our Studies & Experiments
Through many scientific researches and experiments to create a chain known as "tea energy",
What is the tea energy series?
It is a series specialized in recycling tea-leaves and converting them from useless and worthless waste into energy that sustains the earth.
The goal of the series:
- Reduce waste
- Contribute to achieve the sustainable development goals
Treatment of biodegradable waste reduces
- Global Warming
- Fugitive methane emissions which are greenhouse gases
Therefore, the idea of recycling tea-leaves for environmental purposes directly contributes to the sustainability of reducing waste that leads to global warming.
Research:
1- We innovate a new way to purify water from heavy metals using tea waste.
It is the recycling of tea-leaves that are used through the phenomenon of adsorption, which works like a magnet that adsorbs heavy metal and other sediments and purifies water.
Our study was conducted on several minerals. The best results were with iron.
There are three reasons why we chose this topic:
First: Water purification is a global problem that consumes a lot of energy and cost a lot. Through our research and experiment, we discovered a substitution of an environmental friendly method in purifying water from heavy metals.
Second: We chose tea waste because tea is consumed at a higher percentage on day to day basis. Hence, its waste is accumulated in large quantities. So why not use it for recycling purposes and sustain our environment?
Third: We have an abundant source of tea-leaves through our trademark "Ygnd El-Ras". Therefore, through our passion for the environment and our love for tea, we work to establish this sustainable chain.
2- Recycle tea waste into natural fertilizer
Composting: The process of converting biodegradable organic materials into stable products.
Making use out of it, rather than dumping it in landfills.
Tea leaves contain nitrogen, which helps plant growth, suppress soil and establish a healthy balance between increasing the ability to resist pests, diseases, fungi and other diseases.
Microbial functions: competition with the degradation of pathogenic microbiological diseases from toxic pesticides and other chemicals;
Plant growth hormone; Available plant nutrients. Nitrogen fixation plants are best used by tea leaves.
This process is very important in the scope of sustainability; in the composting process we recycle an unwanted byproduct into a useful mater.
Among the benefits of converting tea leaves to organic fertilizer
- Insect repellent.
- Strength in Plant roots and resistant.
- Increases nutrients to the plant itself.
- It increases the water holding capacity in the soil.
You can do this experiment in your own home! In three simple steps:
- After drinking tea, wash the tea leaves thoroughly with warm water.
- Bury the leaves under the plants at home and mix them with the natural soil.
- Leave the leaves for weeks while watering the plants naturally, after which the tea will turn into a natural fertilizer and you will see the difference in the growth of your plants.
